The above graphic describes perfectly my beliefs surrounding what choices we need to be making in regards to what we consume at our meals and snacks. The power to change what we eat is truly in our hands. I realize this more and more each day as I work to overcome my own bad habits. This is why I decided to become an Integrative Nutrition Coach. I wanted to take what I've learned, so far, and help others overcome their obstacles as well. I believe we can still enjoy food while making sure it's healthy for us and not harming our bodies. We do this by making well-informed choices about where our food comes from and making sure it is not processed or made with chemical additives and preservatives. This doesn't mean that we never get to have a dessert. It means we move our focus to more healthy options. We eat less of the foods that aren't good for us and more of the things that give our body what it needs to function and feel good! We don't need to work towards deprivation, we need to strive for improvement!
